Course Overview

Parts Unlimited is in trouble. Newspaper reports reveal the poor financial performance of the organisation. The only way to not only save the company, but also make it competitive and profitable is “The Phoenix Project”, an IT enabled business transformation, with Retail Operations as the business owner. Can your team embrace the DevOps philosophy and make the “The Phoenix Project” a success?

This one-day, role-based business simulation is based on the seminal novel about DevOps, The Phoenix Project, shines a light on the core cultural and behavioural needs for a successful DevOps implementation.

Course Content

DevOps is more than just as set of tools or arcane methodologies: it’s a mind-set. This Business Game allows teams to experience the benefits of adopting a DevOps approach and allow them to feel first-hand how awkward that behavioural shift can be.

Benefits for you as an individual:
You’ll gain a hands-on insight to the benefits to shifting a DevOps mind-set. The course is deliberately non-technical in nature. What you will leave with is a sound understanding of the goals of DevOps and importantly how to apply the key principles to a real-life environment

Benefits for your organisation:
Business are demanding ever shorter release cycles for new applications. Traditionally ‘Operations’ is seen as a barrier with lengthy bureaucratic controls and delays in provisioning production systems. DevOps is a growing movement for shortening development and deployment - integrating Development and Operations. However, this requires a mind-set shift, new behaviours and a cultural change in both Development and Operations. Project Phoenix allows teams to play out how this might work in a safe-to-fail environment.
